Ok, so I know I promised to be MIA for a while, but Alexander Wang's offering for SS14 has brought me outta the dungeon (ahmmm, my studio/sewing room) and back into the blogosphere.
I love that the collection is a return to his roots. Now that he has Balenciaga under his belt, it feels like his namesake label is free to go back to that original street vibe. And then there's the throwback to the slogan trend of the 90's (and we all know I love a good slogan). But it's the finer details - the masculinity of the pinstripes and mens boxers with the oh-so-cheeky-cut-up-to-here shirts, the clever use of laser cut leather that looks almost like delicate lace from afar....
And that "Parental Advisory"sheer sweater. I die a thousand deaths.
So thanks Mr Alexander Wang, you've just given me the first item for my birthday wish list.
Happy hump day peeps.
And a special mention for lil miss Aila Wang.
Literally the coolest kid on the planet (Note the Balenciaga bag - keepin it in the fam!)
